Veterinarians and pet parents are recognizing that terminal illness and the dying process are different from normal life stages. To promote the need for greater understanding and education in the area of end-of-life care, the second annual Animal Hospice Awareness Day will be held November 3.

The International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) will be promoting this year’s Awareness Day through online education and by hosting its second annual conference on the weekend of November 1 to 4. This conference, “GPS – Guide to Pet Hospice Success”, will take place in Denver, Colorado. It will present practical tools for successfully operating an animal hospice service, as well as technical training on the various procedures needed within a hospice and palliative care operation. It is open to veterinarians, technicians, animal hospice case workers, and all those who wish to support the human-animal bond. IAAHPC.org
